Back to School Ideas

Back to school is usually an exciting time for most family's. It can be daunting and overwhelming as well. Up north of the equator most schools are back or headed back around now.

Here are some great craft ideas I have come across to help the transition go more smoothly. Idea's for the children and the teachers for back to school week in the northern hemisphere.

What child could resist milk and cookies after school? You could even make one for each day of the first week to ease those settling in nerves.

Why not makeover some buckets for homework supplies? Get them off to a good organised start.

Lemonade Tablscape

Saturday Addition

Today's linky party host blog Funky Junk Interiors is one I have enjoyed reading for a long time. So many inspiring DIY and home decor projects. Humour, reality, sadness and joy are all an open part of this blog - adore it.

Mudroom Makeover Linky

Was catching up with one of my favourite blogs today - The Lettered Cottage where they are featuring a before and after mudroom makeover by Ashli Maillardville. Gorgoeus use of space and fabulous storage solutions too.

I love the idea of a mudroom - possibly something in Australia we could include in our laundry rooms or "back hall". If I ever build my own home then I sure want to include one - very practical.

Featured Blog of the Week 1

Each week I hope to share some of my absolute favourite blogs and link parties. These are ones that I have read for quite some time and thoroughly enjoyed the hosting blog as well as many of the links found in their party.

Todays blog is one of the first I ever discovered when I found blog hopping a wonderful way of reading about home styling and decor tips. It is of course the uber fabulous Between Naps on the Porch.

Susan has the most wonderful way of telling a story and drawing you in to the adventure of tablescaping amongst other things. Her home is most definitely lived in and enjoyed. It is warm and welcoming as well as inspiring. Just makes me wish I had a porch.

Blog Link Parties

The blog link parties held on some of my favourite blogs have always fascinated me. They are such a wonderful way to discover new people with wonderfully inspiring blogs, projects, tutorials and delicious photos.

I have even participated in a few. Mind you there are so many worth being a part of that it can be hard to keep track.

Which is the reason behind this blog. A place to add regular link parties as I come across them. Somewhere you can check when you do a post to see if a linky party is on that fits your project.

Vintage, decor, upscaling, before and afters, tablescaping, pink, pretty things, recycling, junking, reusing, home renovating, reporposing, teacups and many others will come under the spotlight on Creative Link Up. The links will be added to the left sidebar for the appropriate day they are held.

Some may be under their own category as the lists grow. It may take me a while to get the lists full so check back regularly to see what else is new.
